2025 Keynote Speaker: Theresa Hailey
Engineering Innovation and Athletic Ambition: A Journey of Passion and Purpose
We are pleased to welcome Theresa Hailey from Boeing as our 2025 keynote speaker!
Theresa Hailey graduated from the University of Portland in 2011 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later earned her MBA from UP in Fall 2016. Before joining Boeing, Theresa worked as a Product Development Engineer specializing in metal injection molding at a small company that manufactured orthopedic implants. Her journey at Boeing began as a Manufacturing Engineer at the Portland site, where she spent two years gaining knowledge about manufacturing processes and aerospace design, with a specific focus on flight controls assembly. She then had the opportunity to participate in a Production Engineering rotation program, which provided her with hands-on experience in Tool Engineering and Numerical Control programming, and ignited her passion for 3D modeling. After completing the rotations, she accepted a position as a Tool Design Engineer, where she has designed hundreds of tools that support the assembly and production of commercial airplane components.
Later in her career, Theresa took on a Technical Lead role, mentoring her peers in their growth and development as engineers. This past year, she transitioned from an individual contributor to a managerial position, which has further enriched her professional journey. Throughout Theresa’s 12+ years at Boeing, she has consistently been challenged to enhance her leadership, engineering design, project management, and interpersonal skills. She takes great pride in the work she does and the team she leads.
In addition to her engineering career, Theresa is an avid runner and has qualified for the Marathon Olympic Trials in both 2020 and 2024, and has a goal of competing for a spot on the Marathon Olympic Team in 2028. Her diverse passions fuel her commitment to excellence in both her professional and personal life.
